Why the name Awa’s Bakery?
Let me introduce you to this guy - he's my younger brother! Back when we were kids, he struggled to pronounce my name correctly. That's when 'Awa' became my nickname! From then on, he'd affectionately call me Awa, reserving my real name for moments of frustration.
Now, here's an interesting tidbit about the name's origin: Awa means 'beautiful angel' in Arabic. So, technically speaking, the name of our bakery translates to 'Beautiful Angel Bakery'!
Since baking has always been one of my passions and I needed a willing taste-tester for all my creations - whether they turned out well or not - I decided to pay homage to my little brother by naming the bakery after him. It's a constant reminder of the sweetness he's brought into my life, both literally and figuratively!
